McCain readies for lone debate of US Senate race
PHOENIX — Sen. John McCain will face off against a former Tucson, Ariz., city councilman Sunday evening in the only scheduled general election debate in Arizona’s U.S. Senate race.
McCain easily beat former U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth and another candidate in the Republican primary.
He is the heavy favorite against former Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman, who became the Democratic nominee by defeating former state Department of Health Services director Cathy Eden and two other candidates.
Green Party candidate Jerry Joslyn and Libertarian David Nolan also will take part in the one-hour debate.
Anchor Frank Camacho of KTVK-TV in Phoenix will serve as moderator.
