GOP Mass. senator to stump for McMahon in Conn.

MILFORD, Conn. — Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown is scheduled to campaign in Connecticut for fellow Republican Linda McMahon in a closely watched U.S. Senate race.

Brown is expected to join McMahon at a rally in Milford Saturday afternoon. It will be the first campaign visit on McMahon’s behalf by a nationally known politician.

The former World Wrestling Entertainment chief executive, is locked in a tight race with Democratic state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Democrat Christopher Dodd.

Brown is also to appear at a rally for GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley in Glastonbury on Saturday morning.

Brown, a one-time tea party favorite, won a January election to fill the late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s seat in Democratic-dominated Massachusetts.
