APNewsBreak: Diplomats say Iran removed equipment
VIENNA — Diplomats say equipment used by Iran in possible nuclear weapons research has disappeared from a laboratory.
One tells the AP that senior officials within the International Atomic Energy Agency fear a possible cover-up.
Two others confirm that some equipment is missing. One said Friday it was too early to draw conclusions on why the equipment was removed.
The three asked for anonymity because information surrounding the Iran nuclear probe is confidential.
The equipment was apparently for pyroprocessing, which can purify uranium metal used in nuclear warheads.
