Statement by the Press Secretary

On Thursday, December 09, 2010, the President signed into law:
H.R. 1722, the “Telework Enhancement Act of 2010,” which requires Federal agencies to establish policies allowing certain employees to work remotely;
H.R. 5283, the “Help Haiti Act of 2010,” which authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to grant permanent resident status to certain Haitian orphans;
H.R. 5566, the “Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010,” which prohibits the creation, sale, marketing, advertising, exchange, or distribution of obscene video depictions of animals actually being intentionally killed or subjected to serious bodily injury; and
S. 3689 , the “Copyright Cleanup, Clarification, and Corrections Act of 2010,” which amends copyright law to promote the use of electronic information by the Copyright Office; authorize judicial review of regulations issued by Copyright Royalty Judges; and make various clarifying and technical changes.
