MANCHESTER (GaeaTimes.com)- After a series of shocker Republican Primary senate election results that have been hitting the party since Tuesday night, a respite to the mainstream Republican party members came on Wednesday night when Kelly Ayotte went on to win the New Hampshire Republican Primary election. Both Kelly Ayotte and Manchester lawyer Ovide Lamontagne were proceeding with close margins as vote counting continued late on Wednesday night. However, the former State Attorney General Kelly Ayotte was able to beat Ovide Lamontagne at the end with 1,600 votes. Ovide Lamontagne conceded the race Wednesday night. Kelly Ayotte will be facing Democratic Rep. Paul Hodes in the fall gubernatorial election to replace retiring Republican Senator Judd Gregg.

Ovide Lamontagne, was being backed by local Tea Party activists and the situation got tensed on Wednesday after the win of Tea-Party backed Delaware candidate Christine O’Donnell. Many political analysts claimed that the win of Tea Party-backed candidates might prove to be a hindrance in the path of the Republicans. However, the win of Kelly Ayotte has undoubtedly helped to ease the situation. Kelly Ayotte was backed by former Republican Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

After her Wednesday night win, Kelly Ayotte said to her supporters, who had gathered at her campaign headquarters, that she plans to finish the works that were started and visualized by Senator Judd Gregg. She maintained that she would be advocating personal responsibilities and lower spending. Addressing the media, Kelly Ayotte said that during her New Hampshire Senate campaign she will be stressing fiscal responsibilities. On the part of Ovide Lamontagne, the Tea Party-backed candidate said to media sources that although he was disappointed by the results, he humbly accepts it.
