Rick Scotts Victory Sends Shockwaves throughout Florida

FLORIDA (GaeaTimes.com) – Rick Scott bagged a surprise victory in the Republican primary as Florida governor on late Tuesday defeating Attorney General Bill McCollum.

A political newcomer and a wealthy health care businessman Rick Scott’s victory over McCollum was over a narrow margin. At around 11.30pm Scott managed to collect 592,346 or 46.4 percent of votes and emerged as the winner. On the other hand, McCollum lost the battle with 553,631 votes in his pocket.

On the contrary Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink won on a broader margin of votes and now Sink will face Rick Scott.

Rick Scott is reported to have spent around $50 billion as a compensation for the war with McCollum. But, the campaign was not so good. In his victory speech, Scott repeatedly mentioned aboutthe Tallahassee insiders who had opposed him.

Scott said in his speech, Tallahassee the deal makers are crying in their cocktails.
