SHELTON (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems that the GOP are trying to bank on some new faces in the world of politics this fall. On Tuesday night, following Rick Snyder of Michigan, Linda McMahon of Connecticut won the Republican Senate nomination. Linda McMahon, the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment won the Republican primary by leaving behind money manager Peter Schiff and former Representative Rob Simmons. Rob Simmons who was one of the tough contenders for the nomination suspended his campaign months ago but returned recently to fight for the nomination.

On Tuesday, Linda McMahon went on to win the primary without much trouble as she was able to get an early lead over her two rivals. Ms. Linda McMahon had reportedly spent $22 million from her own pockets to campaign for the primary. The former chief executive of World Wrestling Entertainment had spent hoards of money decorating the state’s airwaves with advertisements. Reports claim that the lady had vowed to spend around $50 million more for the race in fall.

During her campaign for the Republican primary, Linda McMahon had kept her in front of the public as a political outsider who wants to make a difference in Connecticut and in the whole of United States. On Tuesday in her victory rally Linda McMahon urged all Connecticut Republicans to support her in the November election where she will face Democratic Attorney General Richard Bluementhal. Linda McMahon also made clear her point of deference from the Democrats and voiced that the Obama Administration is spending out-of-control which is “suffocating our small businesses and…killing our jobs”.
