BALTIMORE (GaeaTimes.com)- The Tuesday night Republican Senate Primary election results of some of the states of United States have not only proved that the Tea Party movement is gaining strength but also kept in front of the public the slight difference that has cropped between the Republican party and the Tea Party movement supporters. On Tuesday night as Tea Party backed Christine O’Donnell rejoiced her win over the nine-term Congressman Michael Castle, more than the Republicans it was the Democrats who joined in celebration anticipating their success in the fall’s gubernatorial election.
The win of Christine O’Donnell has come as shock to not only the Republicans but also to political analysts who held Michael Castle as a more fit candidate. Despite the desperate attempts by the moderate Republicans to mobilize the votes towards Michael Castle, it failed to make an impact on the voters who cast their support for Tea Party and Sarah Palin backed Christine O’Donnell. However, Christine O’Donnell is not the only Tea Party backed candidate who has won the GOP Senate primary this year. On Tuesday night, Carl Paladino, who was heavily backed by the Tea Party, defeated Congressman Rick Lazio to gain the Republican nomination for the New York Governor’s office. In addition to these two, another Tea Party backed candidate Ovide Lamontagne is reported to be leading in the New Hampshire Republican Senate Primary election.
Many political analysts have opined that the extreme conservative views of the Tea Party backed candidates in the Gubernatorial election will go against the Republican party, making their rise to power a difficult job. However, it is too early to predict the fall election results hold others.
