Telengana Election Results Awaited

ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The assembly by election in Andhra Pradesh has not brought any good news for the ruling Congress party. On Friday the party received a huge blow as D. Srinivas, its state unit chief lost the seat. He was trounced by A. Lakshminarayana of BJP. The Nizamabad Urban constituency from where he fought the election saw him losing by a margin of over 12000 votes. For him the defeat in election comes at a heavy price. He was eyeing the seat of K. Rosaiah the incumbent CM of the state. Meanwhile the counting of votes in a dozen assembly constituencies in the Telengana By polls has started.
Strict security measures have been deployed for the counting of Telengana By polls. There are 7 counting centers in 5 districts. The counting so being recorded so that any untoward incident cannot take place. The results from the constituencies where EVM were used will come out to earlier compare to those where ballot box was used. Cell phone usage has been banned inside the counting booths as the authorities said. Except authorized persons no one would be permitted inside the centers.
From the initial counting of the Telengana By polls the Telangana Rashtra Samiti is leading the race in as many as 11 constituencies. The TRS may gain one stronghold of the Telugu Desam Party as well. As per the election commission more than 66 percent voters in all these constituencies had cast their votes. The results of the election are crucial for resolving the burning Telengana issue that has been rocking the state for some time.
