3 men charged in bank firebombing

OTTAWA — Ottawa police have charged three men in the firebombing of a bank last month in the Canadian capital.

Police say the suspects belong to an anti-establishment group which has threatened further action during the upcoming G-8 and G-20 summits next week in Toronto and Huntsville, Ontario.

Chief Vern White said Saturday that the three Ottawa residents are charged with arson causing damage, use of explosives with intent to cause property damage and mischief in the firebombing of a Royal Bank branch..

The suspects will appear at an Ottawa courthouse later Saturday.

A firebomb was tossed into a Royal Bank branch on the morning of May 18, an act recorded on video and posted online by the anti-establishment group FFFC-Ottawa.
