Former RNC President Ken Mehlman is Gay

WASHINGTON DC (GaeaTimes.com) — In a jaw dropping revelation former RNC chairman Ken Mehlman has come out of the closet. He has confirmed his sexual orientation recently. Ken was the campaign manager for George W Bush during his 2004 re-election.

According to him it has been a long 43 years for him to come in terms with the ground reality of his nature. He also confirmed that he has received a lot of support from family and friends during this phase. He also believed that he should have come out “years ago”. He has decided to tell the truth so that he can advocate a greater part for the cause of same sex marriages. The current scenario with the Section 8 and California has spurred him on. The Section 8 was deemed unconstitutional by a Federal Court but in a recent event the ruling was put on hold till December. He grieved that he put aside his sexuality for the cause of the national interest during his reign at the RNC from 2005 to 2007. He says

It’s a legitimate question and one I understand, I can’t change the fact that I wasn’t in this place personally when I was in politics, and I genuinely regret that. It was very hard, personally. If they[Critics] can’t offer support, at least offer understanding.

Michael Steele, present chairman of the Republican National Committee welcomed Ken Mehlman decision. He says that he would look forward to forge a stronger Republican Party.
