Meet on Telangana starts

NEW DELHI - Political parties from Andhra Pradesh, barring the TRS and TDP as well as the BJP, met here Thursday morning to discuss the Srikrishna committee report on Telangana called by Home Minister P. Chidambaram.

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), which has been spearheading the movement for formation of a separate state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Telugu Desam Party

are boycotting the meeting.

The Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) and Praja Rajyam Party are attending the meeting.

The Srikrishna Committee report on the issue of separate statehood for Telangana is to be made public in the evening.
