Sushma Swaraj calls on Wen Jiabao

NEW DELHI - Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj Friday called on visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and put forth the party’s views on improving ties between the two countries.

BJP sources described the meeting as a courtesy call”.

Swaraj, who is the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, had attended the private dinner hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the visiting Chinese leader Wednesday.

The Chinese premier, who landed in Delhi for a three-day visit Wednesday afternoon and held talks with Manmohan Singh on a range of issues Thursday, leaves here Friday.
