Kan. GOP candidate’s campaign links to racist blog

WICHITA, Kan. — A Republican Kansas congressional candidate has apologized after his campaign posted links on its Twitter feed and Facebook page to a racist blog posting attacking his Democratic opponent and President Barack Obama.

Mike Pompeo, who is running against Democrat Raj Goyle to represent Kansas’ 4th Congressional District, said Thursday that his campaign communications director inadvertently linked to the wrong Google alert Wednesday and that the link was pulled when it was discovered an hour later.

He apologized to Goyle and posted an apology on both websites Thursday.

Pompeo is white and Goyle is of Indian descent.

The blog posting by retired Gunnery Sgt. Bob Pinkstaff refers to Goyle as a “turban topper” and to Obama as an “evil muslim communist USURPER.”
