NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- BJP MP Varun Gandhi is all set to tie the knot with Bengali beauty Yamini Roy. As the couple readies to take the wedding vows on March 6, it has come up that the soon to be Gandhi daughter-in-law will wear a saree on the auspicious occasion that belonged to the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Sources have confirmed that Yamini Roy will be wearing the pink and gold brocade saree that Varun Gandhi’s grandmother Indira Gandhi had given to Maneka Gandhi when she got married to her younger son Sanjay Gandhi.

The marriage will take place in the native state of the Gandhis, Uttar Pradesh, at the Kanchi Shankarachaya’s temple on Hanuman Ghat in Varanasi. Sources said that the Shankaracharya will preside over the wedding of the couple. Since both mother and son are MPs from the state, they intend to stick to their roots for the family wedding. However, a grand reception will be held on March 8 in New Delhi which will be attended by a selected 1,200 guests. For the reception, Yamini Roy will be seen adorned in a orange and gold 100-year-old Benarasi saree that belonged to Kamala Nehru.

The couple is expected to come to Kolkata shortly after their marriage to Yamini Roy’s ancestral home where they will seek the blessing of the family deity and relatives. At the time of the marriage, Varun Gandhi is expected to wear a dhoti and kurta while he will also be donning a traditional churidar and achkan paired with traditional polki buttons for the occasion later on. The wedding reception is expected to be attended by a number of noted personalities.
