Mayor Benjamin Supports President’s Tax Compromise
Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin released the following statement today in support of President Barack Obama’s compromise tax proposal:
“President Obama has won a major victory for the working families who need it the most by extending unemployment benefits, making raising a family, running a small business and going to college more affordable, and reducing the middle class tax burden by an additional 2%.
I fully support the President’s proposal and I urge Congress to look past the rhetoric, to follow his example, and to help the men and women struggling in cities like mine.”
