Corruption plagues central government, says Forward Bloc

KOLKATA - The All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) Saturday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, alleging corruption in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime.
AIFB general secretary Debabrata Biswas also ridiculed UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, calling her the de-facto prime minister of the country.
“Whenever I go out of India, people say the country is being plundered. I feel very sad to say but corruption is going on even at the top level,” he said.
“Agents of corporate houses sit in the North Block and South Block of Delhi. Crores of rupees are being looted. We the Left parties have to fight against this corruption,” Biswas said at a rally here.
Hitting out at the Congress chief, he said: “Sonia Gandhi is the de-facto prime minister of the country. Sonia Gandhi says some thing and our prime minister does something else. This government is selling all the public sector units to American corporate houses.”
Biswas also took a dig at Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, saying that his mother has shifted him to a secret enclosure after the drubbing the party received in the Bihar assembly elections.
“Rahul Gandhi is a newcomer in politics. His mother has shifted him to a secret enclosure, saying ‘wherever you are going, our party is tasting defeat’,” said Biswas.
