NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- 9 years have passed and yet September 11 2001 continues to be fresh in the minds of Americans as well as the rest of the world. In what can be called the worst terrorist attack in history, the attack on the Twin Towers in New York became one of the biggest symbols in America’s fight against terror. The attack has changed the way the world looked at terrorism and continues to be one of the most talked about events in history of mankind. With a death toll that touched the three thousand and more than 6000 people injured, 9/11 remains one of the darkest hours of mankind in history. Skeptics, however, hold the opinion that the attacks were a part of a conspiracy theory and the then US President George W Bush benefited secretly from it.
Some of the theories that have been provided by the skeptics about the 9/11 attacks, being a conspiracy, might be too difficult to verify 9 years after the attacks but definitely make for good debatable material. One website claims that inside traders knew about the attack beforehand. The traders had, reportedly, placed an unusually high number of options on the stocks of American Airlines and United Airlines. Considering that both these airlines were hijacked by the terrorists, the traders were known to have benefited from the attacks.
Another common conspiracy theory about the 9/11 that is presently doing the rounds on the web is that it was not the planes that made the towers collapse but bombs. One photo of the towers shows a type of explosion which happens in controlled demolitions. This further fuels the theories which increase every day in numbers.
