WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- Around 98,000 classified documents related to U.S. war strategy in Afghanistan has been leaked in “Wikileaks” this Sunday and some parts of the leaked documents point fingers towards Pakistan’s Intelligence agency ISI. As per the leaked reports, the United States military officials believe that the Intelligence agency of Pakistan has been secretly supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan. Pakistan, which is an ally of United States in fighting terrorism in Afghanistan, has been receiving billions of dollars in aid from Washington.

The leaked documents in Wikileaks allege that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency has connections with Taliban leaders and help the latter to carry out insurgency in Afghanistan. Pakistan allegedly plays a key role in supporting Taliban in Afghanistan. Wikileaks documents also reveal that the members of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence hold strategy sessions with Taliban leaders. A reputed media source reports that the ISI representatives have access to meet the Taliban leaders directly and help them to tackle the American strategy of assassinating terrorist organization leaders.

However, the leak of such unedited confidential documents in Wikileaks has left the Pakistan High-Command and Inter-Services Intelligence authorities clarifying their position in front of the whole world. The ISI spokesman had denied the allegations and said that the leaked documents are “far-fetched and unsubstantiated”. The spokesman also added that the agency would like to examine the leaked files. Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States, Husain Haqqani called the leak “irresponsible” and said that the documents consists of “unprocessed” reports. He added that the documents in no way reflect Pakistan’s “current on-ground realities”.
