UNITED NATIONS - Cuba has urged the UN to help end the US economic blockade against the Communist nation, Prensa Latina reported.

Cuban permanent representative to the world body, Pedro Nunez Mosquera, Monday handed over a document, rejecting the US blockade against Cuba, to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon for its distribution among member countries.

The document was adopted at the Latin American and Caribbean Unity summit Feb 21-23 in Mexico.

The summit called on Washington to comply with the UN General Assembly resolutions to end the economic and financial embargo against Cuba.
