GOP letter slams rep who just became a Republican
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Some Republicans apparently didn’t get the memo when an Alabama congressman recently switched to their party.
U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith of Huntsville was elected as a Democrat in 2008, but announced in December that he was joining the GOP.
A recent fund-raising letter from the National Republican Congressional Committee to supporters in north Alabama labels him a vulnerable Democrat.
The letter signed by committee chairman Congressman Pete Sessions of Texas seeks money to defeat Parker and other “vulnerable out-of-touch Democrats.”
The Huntsville Times reports that the letter was a surprise to the congressman.
He says he guesses he’ll have to call them and see if they’ll take him off the list.
