BHUBANESWAR - Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama Wednesday said China should be more transparent for a better relationship with India.

“China is not transparent unlike India. China should be more transparent to build better relationship between China and India,” the Dalai Lama said in Bhubaneswar after wrapping up his visit to the Tibetan settlement in Gajapati district of Orissa.

“India and China are the most populous countries in the world. India is transparent. It has democracy. But the other party (China) is not transparent. It should be more transparent to build good relationship with New Delhi,” he added.

He also added that transparency would defuse hostility between the two neighbours and build up mutual trust between them.
