Manmohan Singh to inaugurate IEA conference in Bhubaneswar

BHUBANESWAR - Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the 92nd session of Indian Economic Association (IEA) conference here on Sunday.

On his arrival at the Biju Patnaik airport on Sunday, Dr Singh will directly go to the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University to inaugurate the IEA conference attended by over 3,000 delegates.

The conference will deliberate on global economic crisis and Indian economy, economic geography and development and aspects of development with special reference to Orissa.

Later, he will be flown to Argul in Jatni, about 25 kms from Bhubaneswar, to lay the foundation stone of the new campus of National Institute for Science Education and Research (NISER) at Jatni.

Orissa Governor M C Bhandare and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would also attend the function.

After laying the foundation stone of NISER, Dr will return to New Delhi.

Elaborate security had been made to the KIIT University in view of the Prime Minister’s visit. (ANI)
