KHAMMAM - Agitated Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supporters here today attacked the house of Congress leader Renuka Choudhary.

TRS supporters threw a burning cloth and left a note inside her house, saying she was an anti-Telangana leader and leaders like her, won’t be spared.

Choudhary’s neighbours came to the rescue and did not let the miscreants enter the house.

“They have poured kerosene and tried to set fire to the house. They have left a very clear threat letter, where they have threatened to kill me. Khammam happens to be Telangana, so it’s rather ironic that these so called claimants of the Telangana behave like this in Telangana region, where they threaten, burn, intimidate, and try to terrify people. But these sort of tactics don’t work with me,” said Choudhary.

Earlier on Monday, TRS supporters had called for a shutdown across the state demanding the release of their leader, K Chandrasekhar Rao, who was arrested by the police on Sunday (November 29) while he was heading to Medak district to launch a ‘fast unto death demanding for a separate state.

In view of the shutdown, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport cancelled its bus services in Hyderabad and other Telengana districts like Medak, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Warangal, leaving many passengers stranded.

The fast-unto-death undertaken by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao demanding for a separate state was broken as he was given saline in a government hospital.

Khammam ASP Parimala Nutan said Rao was administered saline and he also had fruit juice, ending his two-day fast. (ANI)
