MUMBAI - The Yuva Sena, youth wing of the Shiv Sena, would provide exhibition space in a city subway to amateur artists to encourage them to display their work.

Appreciating the support of Mumbai Mayor Shraddha Jadhav, Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray said: “A subway is used by many people. Since it is a frequented place, the artists’ work will be visible to many and they will be encouraged.”

The space has been allotted in a subway near a municipal ward in south Mumbai, a Yuva Sena spokesperson said.

Since these artists paint only as a hobby and are not commercially active, they usually do not get space to show their work. We have tried to make it possible, the spokesperson added.
