Congresswoman Melissa Bean’s Statement in Support of President Obama’s Tax Package Compromise

WASHINGTON – Today Congresswoman Melissa Bean (D-IL-08) released the following statement in support of President Obama’s tax package compromise:
 
“Given the continued fragility of our economy and slow pace of recovery, it is critical to move forward to extend tax cuts and provide certainty to the American People.  That is why I support the President’s good-faith compromise on the tax package.  The plan prevents taxes from increasing on any working families or business owners – something I have consistently advocated for.  It will boost our recovery by extending unemployment insurance and promoting business investment through targeted tax cuts.”
