SRINAGAR - Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani Monday said there was no ambiguity in his five-point proposal on Kashmir and interlocutor Dilip Padgaonkar was trying to create confusion just like the central government had done for decades.

“There is no ambiguity in my proposals as these are clear,” said Geelani, a hardline separatist, reacting to Padgaonkar’s statement that the separatist leader should elaborate on his 5-point proposal so that these could be considered by the interlocutors.

“This is an old tactic of New Delhi to create confusion by raking up unnecessary things. If he does not understand our proposals, then it puts a question mark on his appointment as an interlocutor,” Geelani said in a statement here.

Geelani said he has demanded acceptance of Kashmir as an international dispute, revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), withdrawal of security forces under the supervision of some international agency, release of prisoners, and punishment to those security men who Geelani alleges killed 112 people during the unrest that started here June 11.

The hardline separatist leader, who has spearheaded the over-five-month-long Quit Kashmir movement in the valley, has again reiterated he would not meet the interlocutors.

About the Delhi high court direction to lodge an FIR against him for sedition, he said: “Countless FIRs have been registered against me during my political career.”
