PATNA - The Bihar cabinet Tuesday decided to recommend dissolution of the state assembly to Governor Debanand Konwar, a day ahead of the counting of votes of the assembly polls.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

“The cabinet meeting has decided to recommend to the governor to dissolve the state assembly. It is likely to be dissolved Wednesday,” an official said.

The Nitish Kumar-led government has held 236 cabinet meetings since it came to power in November 2005.

Striking a different note, the cabinet meeting was held once under a makeshift canopy in a village, for the first time in the history of the state, and another time on a floating restaurant on the Ganga river.
