MUMBAI - US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Saturday signed the guest book at the Taj hotel and paid respects to the victims of the 2008 Mumbai attack.
It was not immediately known what they wrote in the guest book but the US president was seen writing with his left hand.
In a brief speech at the hotel, he condemned the 2008 attack by Pakistani terrorists who killed 166 people in the financial capital of India.
The Obamas arrived in the afternoon at the start of a four-day India visit and will be spending Saturday night at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel, at the edge of the Arabian Sea.
After lunch in the Presidential Suite of the hotel they will go to Mani Bhavan, now a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, a childhood hero of the US president.
