LUCKNOW, INDIA (Gaea Times.com) While the Ayodhya verdict is due on September 24 the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court turned down a plea for delaying the verdict and allow for an out of court settlement. The Lucknow bench consisting of Justice S U Khan, Justice Sudhir Agrawal and Justice Dharam Veer Sharma decided to uphold their judgment of delivering the Ayodhya verdict on the planned date. The plea was made by a retired bureaucrat by the name of Ramesh Chandra Tripathi who was fined two lac rupees as cost by the court but later on it is reported that the amount was reduced.

The decision of the Lucknow bench appears to be right on the ground that an issue which has been stretched for so long will only create problems if the decision is delayed. No settlement was reached by the parties on the issue in past and Justice S U Khan said that as a court of law they are required to pass a judgment on the Ayodhya issue. Both the sides were provided with opportunities in the past to reach a mutual settlement but they did not agree to and now the decision rests with the court who will deliver their decision on the Ayodhya verdict.

The Ramjanmabhoomi controversy is a very sensitive issue in the country and everyone seems to be waiting for the Court’s decision as to what their decision is going to be. The Ramjanmabhoomi controversy in which the Sangh Parivar claims the land as a birthplace of Ram and desires a temple there while the Muslims are claiming the same place for babri Mosque can turn unpleasant no matter in whose favor the Ayodhya verdict goes.
