US court rejects Zacarias Moussaoui’s appeal
RICHMOND, Va. — A federal appeals court in Virginia has denied the appeal of Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui (zak-uh-REE’-uhs moo-SOW’-ee).
In a ruling issued Monday, a three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond rejected his claim that he was denied potentially helpful evidence during his trial and restricted in choosing his own counsel.
Moussaoui is the only person to stand trial in a U.S. court in the Sept. 11 attacks. He is serving life in prison for helping plan the attacks.
