BHUBANESWAR - Temperatures dipped across Orissa Monday with the day’s lowest recorded at 6.6 degrees Celsius in Phulbani town, a Met department official here said.

Several places recorded low minimum temperatures like Baripada (8.5 degrees Celsius), Bhabanipatna (9.0 degrees Celsius), Koraput (9.9 degrees Celsius), Sambalpur (8.5 degrees Celsius) and Sundergarh (8.9 degrees Celsius), said D.C. Jena of the meteorological centre here.

The state capital Bhubaneswar (14.3 degrees Celsius), coastal town of Puri (15.5 degrees Celsius), Gopalpur (14.8 degrees Celsius) and Paradip (14.3 degrees Celsius), however, remained warmer.

“The cold wave condition is likely to prevail in parts of the state over the next 24 hours,” Jena said.
