Oz PM Julia Gillard laughs off engagement ring rumours

MELBOURNE - Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has laughed off the suggestion that she was wearing an engagement ring on her finger during her press conference.

Gillard was spotted wearing a large rock on her engagement finger at the conference.

However when asked about it she laughed, saying she had owned the ring “for a long period of time”, and that she usually wore it on her right hand - “depending on how much hand writing I’m doing”.’

“Because I don’t know about you, but I find if I work a long period of time writing with rings on my right hand then they start to hurt and so then I flick it on to my left hand,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

Gillard also insisted that the ring was not from her de-facto partner, Tim Mathieson. (ANI)
