Sarkozy arrives in Delhi

NEW DELHI - French President Nicolas Sarkozy touched down here Sunday evening for the official leg of his four-day visit that will focus on expanding bilateral, strategic, nuclear and economic cooperation.

Sarkozy flew in here after an overnight stay at Agra and a four-hour stop in Bangalore.

In Bangalore, the French president declared support for India’s candidacy for the UN Security Council and the Nuclear Suppliers Group, setting a positive tone for his dinner with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday night followed by delegation-level talks Monday.
