Trinamool Congress is an ‘unholy’ force, says BJP

KOLKATA - The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday dubbed former ally Trinamool Congress an “unholy force” and blamed it for weakening the saffron party in the state.
“For the last few years, we had an alliance with a party which is an unholy force. That’s why the BJP’s strength in West Bengal has not increased to that extent. Now we see a resurgence among our workers. We will increase our strength,” said BJP state president Rahul Sinha without naming the Trianmool.
Trinamool was a prominent ally of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from 1998 to 2008.
The two formally parted ways when Trinamool forged an alliance with the Congress during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
The state BJP unit has decided to organise a blockade at the state secretariat Writers’ Buildings Tuesday against the ruling Left Front.
“Tomorrow (Nov 30) we will organise a Writers’ Buildings blockade. Four large processions from different parts of the city will blockade Writer’s Buildings from four sides. People will see that the BJP is not an impotent force in the state,” said Sinha.
