Bihar has voted for development: Shahnawaz Hussain
By ANIWednesday, November 24, 2010
PATNA - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain on Wednesday said the people of Bihar have voted for development.
Talking to reporters here, Hussain said: “It is clear that the people have voted for development and not for caste. Nitish Kumar is set to return to power.”
He said the Bihar verdict should be seen as a watershed in Indian politics.
Sounding confident about the BJP’s performance in the state, Hussain said: “The BJP will show a good striking rate. We will win with good votes and seats.”
Hussain’s comments came as trends showed the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) surging ahead towards a substantive win to retain power in Bihar for a second five-year-term, leading in 158 of the 215 seats at the last count. (ANI)
