Maoists set RJD candidate’s office on fire in Bihar

GURUA - Maoists set on fire an office of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate, Vindeshwari Prasad in Bihar’s Gurua Block.

Around hundred Maoists entered the office and set it on fire on Wednesday.

“Around 100 Maoists came here in the evening and torched the office. This was the office of RJD. They were boycotting the ongoing elections,” said Rajeev Kumar, an RJD supporter.

Bihar is in the midst of six-phase polling for the 243 assembly seats.

The first four phases of Bihar polls passed off peacefully. The sixth phase of election is scheduled on November 20.

Over 55 million voters are expected to participate in the poles.
