Congress leader slams Sharad Yadav for use of ‘criminal’ language against Rahul Gandhi

PATNA/RAXAUL - Senior Congress party leader B K Hariprasad has criticized Janata Dal United (JD-U) president Sharad Yadav for using indecent and inappropriate language in describing Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.

Voicing his ire in state capital Patna on Wednesday, Hariprasad said a seasoned politician like Yadav should not have used such words and added that he spoke like a criminal.

“We have decided to lodge a complaint against him (Sharad Yadav) with the Bihar Election Commission,” said Hariprasad.

“The words that one uses in politics must be in accordance to the democratic principals. Sharad Yadav has crossed all limits of in decency. He seems to have lost his mind and he should be treated,” Hariprasad said.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has asked the state administration to seal the border at Raxaul, leading to Nepal.

Raxaul is a sub-divisional town in the East Champaran district.

Security has been beefed up as for the smooth commencement of the Bihar elections.

Bihar, one of India’s poorest states, is currently run by a coalition of the regional Janata Dal United (JDU) and the Bharatiya Janata Party under the banner of National Democratic Alliance.

The state will elect a new 243-seat assembly in a staggered month-long polling exercise that commenced on October 21 and would culminate on November 20, in what is expected to be a stiff battle for power.

The legislative elections are being held in 56,943 polling stations spread across the state with 55-million electorate exercising their franchise to choose a new government. (ANI)
