Eye on polls, DMK top brass begin stock-taking

CHENNAI - With assembly elections scheduled next year, Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK’s top leaders Wednesday started the process of interacting with district functionaries.

DMK president M. Karunanidhi, general secretary K. Anbazhagan, treasurer M.K. Stalin and south zone organising secretary M.K. Alagiri met Suba Thangavelan, district secretary of the party’s Ramanathapuram unit.

Members of parliament and members of legislative assembly also participated in the meeting.

Senior party members like Arcot N. Veerasami, Veerapandi S. Arumugam, and Duraimurugan were also present.

Similar meetings with functionaries from Coimbatore, Tuticorin, Tirunelvelli and South Chennai districts are lined up in the coming days.
