Correction: Vermont Yankee’s Lobbying story
MONTPELIER, Vt. — In a story Oct. 3 about the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant’s lobbying efforts, The Associated Press erroneously reported the dollar amounts of political donations made by plant owner Entergy Corp. In the 2007-08 election cycle, the company made about $12,600 in contributions in Vermont, not $107,000, according to Federal Election Commission filings. In 2009-10, it was about $6,000, not $7,000.
Also, the story incorrectly reported that Entergy donated $2,000 to the re-election campaign of U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., in 2009-2010. The contribution, for $1,000, was made in 2007.
Relying on information from a plant spokesman, the story incorrectly stated that the plant produces 650 megawatts of power per hour. It produces 650 megawatts whenever it is operating.
