NFL flags Feingold’s latest ad
MILWAUKEE — The NFL is asking Sen. Russ Feingold’s campaign to remove an unauthorized clip from his latest ad that shows Randy Moss pretending to moon the Green Bay crowd.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Tuesday the league has not licensed the footage to the Democratic senator’s campaign.
The ad shows a number of clips of football players dancing in the end zone. Feingold says the celebrations are similar to how his challenger has prematurely declared himself the victor in the senate race.
Polls show Republican Ron Johnson with a slight lead over Feingold.
The Feingold campaign didn’t immediately return a message asking whether it would pull the ad.
The NFL clip shows Moss pretending to moon the crowd in 2004 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings. The stunt drew a $10,000 fine.
