GOP hopeful outraised Dem Ohio governor last month
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Newly released campaign finance reports in the Ohio governor’s race show Republican John Kasich (KAY’-sik) raised about $480,000 more in contributions last month than Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland.
Kasich reported raising almost $2.1 million in Tuesday’s filings, compared with Strickland’s $1.6 million. Some recent polls have shown that Kasich’s lead over Strickland is tightening.
The report did not include how much cash they spent and how much they had left in their accounts.
In August, Strickland slightly outraised Kasich.
