Fresh political violence flares in Pakistan city

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Seven people have been killed in Pakistan’s largest city in a renewed wave of political violence.

The unrest Friday came after the slaying of a local political party member close to the airport in Karachi.

Provincial government spokesman Jamil Soomro says six people were gunned down in apparent revenge attacks.

Earlier this month some 80 people were killed in the city in violence between rival political and ethnic groups.
