Schwarzenegger announces trade mission to Russia
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced he will travel to Russia to work with the country on developing its high-tech industry.
He made the remarks Friday during a business round table discussion in Santa Clara. He says California should use its brainpower and technology to form business partnerships with Russia’s high-tech industry.
The Republican governor says he will travel to Russia after his trip to China, Japan and South Korea, which is scheduled for Sept. 9-15. A spokesman says Schwarzenegger has not set a date for the Russia trip, but says the governor discussed it with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during his recent visit to California.
Schwarzenegger was discussing the state budget with members of the Bay Area Council.
