CPI-M politburo to discuss Bengal civic polls setback

AGARTALA - The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) politburo will meet in New Delhi Saturday to discuss the West Bengal civic polls setback and other issues, party sources said here Friday.

“The two-day meeting of the politburo would scrutinise the Bengal civic poll results and decide the future course of action,” a senior party leader told IANS on condition of anonymity.

CPI-M politburo member and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar left here Friday for New Delhi to attend the meeting, which would also discuss the one-year performance of the ruling United Progressive Alliance-II in New Delhi and take a decision on the possible strategies for the future.
