KENTUCKY (GaeaTimes.com)- Republican Rand Paul emerged the winner in the race for the United States Senate seat nomination from the state of Kentucky. His win was significant for a number of reasons. First of all, he was a first time candidate, despite the fact that he is the son of the former Presidential candidate Representative Ron Paul. Moreover, Rand Paul got to win against none other than Trey Grayson, the established Republican candidate. Rand Paul won over Trey Grayson in a comfortable majority; with 99% of the precincts reporting, he led with 59% as opposed to the other’s 35%.
Republican Rand Paul conceded that his win is going to do wonders for the Tea Party movement. As one of the most prominent members of the movement, his victory is surely going to do wonders for the movement, and would most likely help the movement gain firm ground in states that it is still not that widespread in. Moreover, it is being expected that his victory is also going to get the movement some renewed faith from the people. In fact, that is exactly what Rand Paul himself commented after the declaration of the results. He said that the victory is going to be tremendously significant for the Tea Party movement.
Rand Paul further commented that his victory counted as among the most important ones as it proves that the country now wants to see a breakdown in the system, and that the people are now ready to welcome new and young politicians in the helm, instead of the ones who have been steering the wheels for so long.
