Dems attack Rossi ahead of possible Senate bid
OLYMPIA, Wash. — Republican Dino Rossi is still considering a campaign against U.S. Sen. Patty Murray of Washington. But Democrats are already campaigning hard against him.
Democrats point out that some of Rossi’s business partners apparently owe about $20,000 in back property taxes in Snohomish County. Democrats say that shows poor ethical judgment by Rossi, a Republican.
Rossi says Democrats are just trying to attack him personally because they’re scared he’ll run against Murray. Some polls have predicted a close race if Rossi decides to run.
The property in question apparently fell behind on its taxes after tenants went out of business. Rossi says the building is owned by a separate company, and he has no investment interest in it.
