Ex-NJ Gov. Corzine lands at Princeton, Wall Street

PRINCETON, N.J. — Two months after leaving office, former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine (KOHR’-zyn) has two new jobs.

Wall Street options and futures firm MF Global Holdings Ltd. announced Tuesday that Corzine is its new CEO and chairman, effective immediately.

And Princeton University announced Corzine would be a visiting professor in the 2010-11 academic year. His duties will include leading a lecture series on financial market regulation and teaching a graduate course on state policy.

Corzine was chairman of investment firm Goldman Sachs before launching his political career.

The Democrat was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000 and as governor five years later. He lost his re-election bid last year.

He nearly died in 2007, when his state trooper-driven SUV slammed into a highway guardrail. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt and broke 15 bones.
