TARN TARAN - Residents of this border town of Punjab were Monday forced to have a dry day, sans water, that too on World Water Day, when local municipal officials snapped supply suddenly.

The reason for the water supply being disrupted by municipal officials was a tiff between a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor and a municipal official earlier Monday.

As municipal officials alleged, the councillor misbehaved with the official, and they went on strike in protest. They cut off water supply to most parts of the town.

Local residents had to suffer as there was no water supply for most of the day. The supply was restored only after the police intervened and assured action against the councillor.
