PANAJI - Goa Governor S.S. Sidhu Tuesday said the state government was working on ways to make the coastline more secure in view of the recent sea borne terror threats.

The governor was delivering the Republic Day speech at the Campal parade grounds in the capital.

“The Goa government is working on ways to make our beaches and our coastline more secure,” Sidhu said, addressing a gathering of state VIPs including Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and his cabinet ministers.

Sidhu said the state which is already ranked second to Kerala on literacy percentage scale, should look at tweaking the state’s education system to hundred percent literacy.

“Goa has done well on the education front. But we should try to achieve 100 percent literacy,” Sidhu said.
